Fleet Vehicle Procurement
Audit to right-size your fleet.
Choosing the right vehicle is as important as optimizing the number of fleet vehicles.
How to choose the right vehicle for the right task:
- Use BFO to do an independent fleet utilization audit. The audit will reveal your real fleet task requirements.
- Choose the right size engine for the task. This step will make your fleet more energy efficient and help to green the fleet. Refer to the Suggested Vehicle Size for Task table.
- Refer to procurement procedures and internal fleet records.
- Conduct a Vehicle User Survey before any large vehicle replacement initiative. The survey will point out any change in staff needs.
- Refer to manufacturers’ specifications and independent safety tests.
- Base the final purchasing decision on safety and cost of ownership
Audit your fleet before the next procurement cycle.
The audit results can indicate that there is no need to buy more fleet vehicles.
Use this table below as a guide to choose the right engine size for a fleet vehicle.
